[edit] New Meeting Format
To generate participation and new content (both in-person and virtually), a couple variations have been added to the meeting format. Gatherings will continue to be fluid but will likely follow this format:
- brief (5 minute) group discussion of the changes on campus (budget, technology, etc)
- 15 minute presentation by an attendee on an innovative idea they've implemented
- meeting topics
- brief selection of next volunteer presentation
- closing
At the April 2008 meeting, a number of excellent topics for future meetings were proposed; any attendee is welcome to present on one of these subjects. Gina Clifford has volunteered to be the first at our July 2008 meeting with a discussion of the web technologies that are being explored at the USF Library.
[edit] Potential Topics for AAWA Hot Teams
- accessibility
- usability
- new methods to promote a website
[edit] Open Discussion
[edit] Updates from CAS
Peter George gave a brief overview of the tech-related changes and consolidations occurring within the College of Arts and Sciences.
[edit] Ways to Innovate Despite Constrained Budgets
Gina Clifford discussed a few ways the Library has been innovating despite a constrained budget. Social media such as blogs, YouTube, and wikis were just the beginning.
USF Health has been experimenting with different web-based video platforms to great success. Two recent examples are the Match Day video and the USF Health Vimeo channel.
